The MSC Grove Facility
The MSC Student Programs Office (located inside MSC 216 on the second floor
of the MSC above the bookstore; 845-1515) is responsible for management
of the outdoor Grove Facility west of the Simpson Drill Field and South
of the Albritton Bell Tower.
The Grove Facility exists for the purpose of holding events for recognized
student organizations and University Departments.
Any event considered hazardous, illegal, or in violation of University regulations
will not be allowed. In addition, events shall be in accordance with the
University's antidiscriminatory statement.
All applications for events will be reviewed at the time of submission of
a completed application, and date/time will be assigned unless there is
a question pertaining to the above which will then be referred to the appropriate
MSC Staff/Council officer.
Decisions to cancel will be made by the MSC Director or his/her designee.
Such decisions may be appealed at a regularly scheduled MSC Council meeting
held on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. Arrangements for appeals will be made by notifying
the MSC Council President at 845-1515 within two weeks of the actual cancellation.
Any request for the Grove should be submitted at least one week prior to
the event.
General Policies
- Facility rental is $65.00 per day. Events that run past midnight incur
a second day charge. You can pay by Student Organization Finance Center
check (made payable to MSC Grove), cash or interdepartmental transfer (which
should be filled out by your organization/department).
- Cancellation due to inclement weather shall be free of any charge.
Other reasons for cancellation should be made in advance of 24 hours of
requested day, otherwise you will be charged. Notify the MSC Student Programs
Services Island at 845-4391 of any cancellation.
- If serving food concession at your event, arrangements can be made
through TAMU Food Services at 845-3746.
- All audio-visual electronic services can be arranged through the Rudder
Theatre Complex Managers office at 845-4151 and is an additional charge
paid at that office. For inquiries about tables and chairs contact Facilities
at 845-8905.
- The backdrop on the band shell is a movie screen. The screen can not
have anything taped, pinned, or marked on it.
- Any events with professional musical performers shall be approved by
MSC Town Hall Committee at 845-1515.
- You and your organization/department are responsible for all Grove
facilities and equipment. Any missing or damaged equipment shall be replaced
or repaired at the requesting organization's expense.
- If your reservation procedures are not followed, then reservation privileges
for your committee may be discontinued. Your organization will not be able
to reserve the Grove for the remainder of the semester.
- All cleaning shall be done by the requesting organization/department
immediately following the event. Organizations/departments who do not complete
proper cleaning shall be charged an additional $50.00.
- Due to the location near residence halls and classrooms, sound volumes
must be controlled so not to disturb residents and classes. Any request
by a Grove staff member to lower the sound level must be honored.
- The requesting organization/department agrees to protect, hold harmless
nd indemnify the Memorial Student Center and its employees against all
liabilities, claims, suits, or demands for injuries to any person and/or
property growing out of the requesting organization's/department's use
of the Memorial Student Center Grove Facilities.
Please note, due to structure of the Grove, access to bathrooms and stage
are not ADA regulated. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause
you or your patrons.
