Accessibility Guidelines

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) makes provisions to ensure reasonable access to services and programs for everyone interested regardless of any disability. Title II Access to Services and Programs states, "...no qualified individual with a disability shall, by reason of such disability, be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of services, programs, or activities of a public entity, or be subjected to discrimination by any such entity."

When planning an activity, consider accessibility for all people who may desire to participate. Texas A&M has attempted to provide reasonable physical access to all of its buildings. Additionally, however, special services for people with visual or hearing impairments or other disabilities may also be required. You may contact facility managers or Disability Services for assistance in identifying or offering such services.
